Here you can see Henry planking some Canadian Maple that he saved from a log burner in the New Forest with his new saw. The chainsaw made a lovely job of planking the maple with very little ripping marks. Now to see how it dries out or will Henry be steambending with it? Keep and eye on our posts to find out.

bench, steam bent, steam bending, natural furniture2015 has been a very busy year so far for us here at Henry Williams Design!

I have been busy with the shows at Penshurst Place, Stonar Park and The Arundel Gallery Trail.

I have for the first time created a chaise lounge out of a single plank of wood, with the base a single plank of Elm accompanied by the steam bent ribbons in Ash. I took it to Stonar park and so far it seems to be proving popular!

Henry has been very busy recently with creating a unique green oak pergola. The pergola is created using some of the oak from Storrington that he milled in March.

The first showing of this piece was at the CLA Game Fair held at Blenheim Palace in July 2014 and received a great response from the public.

The roof of the structure is woven 15 x 50 millimeter strips with which have been twisted and fixed to the curved sail frame. This gives a light airy feel to the structure and created some spectacular pattens on the floor when the sun is shining. The one pictured is 3×4 meters but these can be made to any size so please done hesitate to get in contact about your very own pergola or garden structure.
